Considering how many of his ex's he locked up in his own private pocket dimension prison, if he thought it would lead to him getting what he wanted, sure. But I doubt I'm going to be target number one. He's very heavily obsessed with Superman. Hard for him to see much beyond that.
I'm going to be generous and say reasons might differ between worlds. In our world, he's jealous. Nothing really more interesting than that, unfortunately.
